The Underground Railroad Sampler is a limited edition series that tells the story of how slaves used blocks in a code to help navigate their escape. The custom mixed FIMO polymer clay colors used to create the quilt blocks, were inspired by colors used in quilts during this Civil War era.

• Underground Railroad Pins are made using surgical stainless steel findings.
• Underground Railroad Necklaces are made jasper beads with 14 karat gold filled findings. Each necklace is assembled by hand and you may choose from 2 sizes.
• Underground Railroad Bracelets are made with a magnetic clasp, a 2" safety chain, and are available in either 14kt gold or Sterling silver. They are sized for an average 7" wrist, but can be made larger on request. As they are handmade, they will be similar as pictured, but sometimes different accents beads and such will be used.

		The Underground Railroad was an informal network of secret routes and safe houses used by 19th-century black slaves in the United States to escape to free states and Canada with the aid of abolitionists and allies who were sympathetic to their cause. The term is also applied to the abolitionists, both black and white, free and enslaved, who aided the fugitives. You can read more about the Underground Railroad here.
